| Q. We have received a question from a young person asking whether we are strict with children, we have posted this response and hope you can follow up with the suggestions made. |
Thankyou for your Ask Advisor question, there are many services on the chyps website and we do not have information to answer your question fully. However, there are people in South Ayrshire that would be able to talk to you and possibly provide an answer.
You could talk to someone in Social Work, your Teacher or an adult that you trust. Information on the website provides you with different contact details, in Ayr you could talk to Social Work on 01292 267675.
Please make sure you speak to someone if you have any worries or concerns, and thankyou again for contacting us.

Ask Advisor |
| Q. We have received a question about the website and support for staff, unfortunately the e mail adress provided is not recognised. |
A: Thank you for your Ask Advisor submission, www.chyps.co.uk as you will be aware is a website that aims to provide contact information to the public about Children's Services within the South Ayrshire Authority.
The website contains contacts for many individual services which collectively provide support to children, young people, families and carers in the area and as a result we would not be able to commit to sharing specific information on any of the projects and or services other than the information already posted within the site.
However, the site itself is a form of support to children and young people and as such the site itself could be viewed as a vehicle for additional support in terms of making contact information available, in particular when services offer such a varied range of support.
We work with all the partners shown on the website and many are established services rather than projects, perhaps in your own local area there are services such as Social Work, Education, Health and Voluntary organisations which may be able to assist you with your assessment in more detail and would be able to advise you of the support staff receive.
You should be able to get contact details of services in your area from your local Council website, we wish you luck in your assessment for college.
regards,
Ask Advisor |
| Q. Green Card Scheme |
| A: We have received a question about a Green Card Scheme, unfortunately we do not have any information relating to the scheme. Your local NHS may have the information you are looking for and we would suggest you contact this service direct for clarity about the scheme.

| Q. We received a question asking us how do we watch all children, below is some information that may answer the question |
A: The Scottish Executive have said "It's everyone's job to make sure children are alright", and that all children have a right to grow up in a caring and safe environment.
All adults have a responsibility to protect children, including:
Parents
Family members
Friends
Neighbours
Professionals - such as teachers, doctors, nurses, police, social workers
Members of the public
Youth groups
Religious organisations.
In South Ayrshire we have highlighted this through leaflets for the public, training and booklets for staff. We will have an ongoing programme of awareness raising which in the near future will include raising awareness within schools, youth groups etc.
You can get some more information on our website:
www.south-ayrshire.gov.uk/childprotection where you can read and download further information.

| Q. We have received a request for help with regard to sexual health, unfortunately the e mail address you provided us with is not recognised. |
| A: Thankyou for your Ask Advisor question, as we do not know which Authority you live within and as www.chyps.co.uk covers services within Ayrshire we cannot give you a specific link to someone direct that might be able to answer your question.
There are people who can talk to you in a completely confidential manner and they will be able to advise you further, we would suggest you contact your local General Practitioner as many GP practices offer a well woman clinic where you may be seen by a female doctor or a female practice nurse, you can also contact your local NHS services offering sexual health advice and you can find these by placing a local search on your internet.
You may also want to think about contacting the Family Planning Association by accessing their website www.fpa.org.uk or telephoning on 020 7608 5240.
Please follow up on our suggestions as it is really important you contact someone who will be able to talk to you about sexual health as soon as possible.
If you require further information do not hesitate to contact www.chyps.co.uk again.
