Recognising the right of all learners to achieve their full potential and to be educated, as for as possible, alongside one another in their communities. Both sport and the arts provide opportunities for life long learning.

Life long is defined as “a broad term encompassing a wide range of activities including initial and adult education, training skills development and leisure activities (sport and arts).

The ethos of this approach, using sport and the arts as a community regenerator.

Implement the Pupil Support Strategy

  • Monitoring Progress

Community Learning Strategy and the Community Education Service

South Ayrshire Council’s Community Learning Service sets out a shared vision for
  • supporting and sustaining a positive culture for community learning
  • supporting and sustaining a positive culture for the community leaning.

The involvement of the local partners clearly link into other initiatives including Social Inclusion Partners, New Community Schools, Community Planning, Children’s Services Plan, Educational Cluster Groups, Pupil Support Initiatives, Strategy for Lifelong Learning and planned improvements in Adult Basic Education.

The Community Education Service will develop services that are focused on young people form upper years in primary school to young adulthood.
Emphasis will be placed on achieving outcomes and underpinned by a person-centred approach.

Priority will be given to the provision of learning of the highest quality within the best use of resources available.
