It is extremely important to
review each match on a regular basis in order to ensure
that both the young person and their befriender are
getting the most from the Project. It is the aim of
the South Ayrshire Befriending Project to offer a quality,
needs led service; therefore it is important that a
regular review process becomes standard practice.
When the match begins to progress
as normal (usually from the third outing), the formal
review process will begin. The first two outings have
a slightly different procedure as outlined in the previous
page as part of the Matching Process.
Befrienders will be asked to
submit a short report outlining what they have done
on their outings and noting anything significant that
has occurred on the outings.
Review meetings will take place.
One between the project co-ordinator and the befriender,
and one between the project co-ordinator, young person
and their family.
A comprehensive review will
be undertaken involving the project co-ordinator, referring
agent, young person & their family, and the befriender.
The objective of the review is to assess the young person’s
development since becoming involved with the project
and also if the Befriending service is still relevant
to their needs. A decision will be made as to whether
the young person will continue to benefit from the Befriending
Project or whether another service is more appropriate.
If this is the case, an ending procedure will be put
into place.
