For some young people having to look back on their early life may raise issues for them which are confusing, uncertain or unsettling.
The "Meeting My Needs" material was developed in South Ayrshire to address some of the day-to-day issues that can affect children from non-nuclear families and which can cause them unnecessary and/or avoidable distress and upset.
Although mainly focussed on issues within the school setting and on potentially sensitive areas of the curriculum, the material will be relevant in a wide variety of setting and situations. These could include, for example, youth groups/clubs, playgroups and out of school clubs as well as in social and health care settings.
