Housing Services forms part of South Ayrshire Council’s Social Work, Housing and Health Department.

Local Area Housing Offices
The main aim of having local offices is to make it easier for tenants to pay their rent and to contact Housing Services if they have any problems or have to report a repair. These local offices have also allowed other departments of the Council to make their services easy to access to customers.

What do the Area Housing Offices do?
The Area Housing Offices deal with a range of issues for council tenants, namely:

• Repairs and Maintenance
• Rent and council tax collection (Collection times are noted below)

• Rent arrears
• House allocations and empty houses
• Estate Management, including neighbour dispute and anti-social behaviour.
• Housing and Council Tax benefits (by Chief Executive’s Department staff located in each office)
• Registration of births, Deaths and Marriages
• Cemeteries (Development Safety & Regulation) ( Troon, Prestwick and Maybole)
• Homelessness (initial presentations in office outside Ayr.)
